ManageWP runs routine maintenance across a WordPress roster: updates, backups, uptime and client reports. Its Safe Updates can roll back an update that breaks the page it checks, but it does not write a fix for the error behind it. That part is all Patcherly does.
| Patcherly | ManageWP | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | ||
| What it is | An error-to-fix workflow for live sites and apps: catch the error, draft the fix, apply it after your approval | Multi-site WordPress management dashboard |
| Bulk updates and one-click login | No: Not offered | Yes: Included free |
| Uptime monitoring | No: Not offered. Patcherly is not an uptime monitor | Yes: Paid add-on: checks every 60 seconds, alerts by email, SMS or Slack |
| Security and vulnerabilities | No: Not a security scanner | Yes: Free security check, vulnerability protection as an add-on |
| When something breaks | ||
| PHP error detection | Yes: Reads the error logs your app already writes, through a connector on your server. On WordPress, Emergency Rescue still reports fatals when the site is white-screened | No: Not listed among ManageWP’s features |
| A fix for the error | Yes: Context-enriched: the AI gets the error plus the server it runs on (runtime versions, installed plugins or packages). Every patch comes with a diff, an explanation and a confidence score | No: Not offered |
| Learns from your own sites | Yes: Core and Pro: fixes that worked or were rolled back on your own sites guide the next one. Private to your workspace, 90 or 180-day lookback, never used for training | Not applicable: no fixes are drafted |
| Where the fix lands | Yes: Your choice per site, on every plan: applied on your server with a backup, opened as a GitHub pull request, or both | Not applicable: no fixes are drafted |
| After an update breaks a page | Yes: The PHP error it causes is caught and a patch drafted, so the update can stay | Yes: Safe Updates checks a page before and after, rolls the update back on a 4xx or 5xx, and shows before and after screenshots (needs premium Backup) |
| Backups | Partly: Only the files a fix is about to change, kept on your server. Not a full-site backup | Yes: Monthly cloud backups free, more frequent backups as a paid add-on |
| Rollback | Yes: Of each fix: automatic if the site stops responding, or one click from the dashboard | Yes: Of updates, through Safe Updates and restore points |
| Fit and price | ||
| Client reporting | Partly: Per-site metrics and error timelines, exportable as CSV, XLSX or PDF. No white label | Yes: Client reports free, advanced reports and white label as add-ons |
| Beyond WordPress | Yes: PHP, Python and Node.js apps, with the same workflow | No: WordPress only |
| Sites per account | Personal 1, Core 3, Pro 10 sites per workspace | Priced per site, with bundles covering up to 100 sites each |
| Pricing | Free plan for 1 site. Paid plans from €24/month, or €19/month billed yearly, priced per workspace, not per developer | Core free. Add-ons per site per month, for example uptime at $1 per site or $25 for up to 100 sites |
| Company | Built by Shambix in Florence, Italy. Data hosted in the EU (Frankfurt) | Owned by GoDaddy since 2016 |

Most AI fixes fail because the model sees a stack trace and nothing else. Patcherly gives it what an engineer would check first, without handing over your codebase.
Runtime and framework versions, and the plugins, packages and theme actually installed, collected by the connector on your server within the sharing level you choose.
On Core and Pro, fixes that worked or were rolled back on your own sites guide the next one. A private memory for your workspace, never used to train any model.
The AI sees the error and short redacted excerpts around it. Your code stays on your server. Connect a GitHub repo for pull requests and only the files a fix touches are read.
For comparison, published industry deployments report 58% (Getafix) to around 85% (SapFix) of automated patches rejected. Benchmark figures from the research behind Patcherly (Martelli, OPIT, 2025). Research findings →
Rolling back is the right first move when an update breaks a site, but it also takes the update away, security fixes included. Patcherly drafts a patch for the incompatibility instead, so in many cases the site can keep the new version.
Safe Updates checks the page you pick. A fatal on checkout, on an admin screen or in a cron job may never show up there. Patcherly reads the PHP error log, so it sees the error wherever it happened.
Patcherly’s Emergency Rescue is a small must-use file that keeps working when a fatal stops the main plugin from loading. It still reports the error, and can still apply an approved fix or a rollback.
ManageWP stays your control panel for updates, backups, uptime and reports. Add Patcherly to the sites that break most, typically the WooCommerce shops and the custom themes.
When a ManageWP alert tells you a site is down, check Patcherly: if a PHP error caused it, it will be there with a drafted fix waiting for your approval.

No. Patcherly does not run updates, take full-site backups, monitor uptime or produce white-label reports. It does the one thing ManageWP does not: it turns a PHP error into a drafted, reversible fix that you approve.
Personal covers 1 site, Core 3 and Pro 10 per workspace. Agencies with a bigger roster usually start with the sites that generate the most errors. Current limits are always on the pricing page.
Only the files a fix is about to change, on your own server, right before it writes them. That is what makes rollback instant. It is not a full-site backup, so keep ManageWP, your host or another tool for that.
No access to your codebase. The connector sends the error message, stack trace, file path and short excerpts of code around the error, with common secrets redacted before anything leaves the host. Site context such as active plugins and theme is shared only at the level you choose. Your database, media and full site files are never sent. If you connect a GitHub repository for pull requests, only the files a fix touches are read.
No. The plugin pairs each site to your workspace, and you approve the fixes. Your team can join the workspace with their own roles.
